Frequently Asked Boarding Questions
Capstar is a flea pill. When ingested it kills fleas within 30 minutes. It is not a preventative against fleas. It only kills the fleas that are currently on the dog. It does not interfere with any current monthly preventative you administer to your dog. We will only give Capstar if we discover fleas or flea dirt on your dog.
Yes. We require that puppies be at least 16 weeks old before coming to the facility. They must have had their rabies and be on their third round of puppy boosters.
Our daycare rush hour is between 7:00am - 9:00am. To be sure that our boarding guests are checked in properly and get the best possible service we start the check ins at 9:00am. Check in at 7:00am is available for an extra $10.00

No. We are not a 24 hour facility. We are equipped with alarm emergency systems and 24hr webcams to ensure that your pets are safe. We do not accept sick or geriatric dogs, or any dogs who need medical assistance.
We provide the bedding, bowls and entertainment. The only thing the owner is responsible for bringing is the food. We ask that the food be put in individual bags portioned for each meal so there is no confusion with the amount given. Toys and personal belongings are allowed. We are not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged throughout the stay.
Yes. On the weekends we are closed for daycare Drop Offs and Pick Ups, but the boarding dogs still get playtime.
Rates go up due to the high demand for those dates and having staff members here during the holidays. We are closed for the public on holidays to ensure that our attention is devoted only to our guests.
No. We are not owned by the same company but work very closely together and have the same goals.
No. We only provide boarding for dogs and cats and daycare for dogs only.
Unfortunately we do not accept referrals. Every dog is different and reacts to new situations and scenarios in a different way. While we are sure your pup is the star of your daycare back home, The Belmont will be a new environment for them and we want to make sure your pup is going to not only enjoy coming here, but most importantly, they'll feel safe.

Frequently Asked Daycare Questions
Temperament Tests are conducted Monday - Friday between 10:00am-2:00pm. It typically takes 15 - 30 minutes depending on your dog’s personality.
Yes. Every place is different and every place has different standards.
Sometimes dogs do well in the Temperament Test, but when placed in a large daycare setting they can become stressed, anxious, or even aggressive. We want dogs to be happy, healthy, and excited to come to The Belmont so it is very important for us to get to know your dog well. Our half day of daycare will allow us to do just that!
Unless your dog is a puppy and requires lunch, you do not need to bring anything with your dog. We provide everything they need to play.
Even though we close at 7:00pm, our daycare section of the resort closes at 6:00pm. From 6:00pm - 7:00pm the staff is strictly here to clean the facility and to take care of the dogs who are boarding that night. We take them outside to play, feed them dinner, and straighten up their suites for the night time.
aHere at The Belmont we are all about dogs having fun! We have a 15 ft. splash pool in our indoor area and kiddie pools outside in our yard. The K9 grass in our yard is constantly wet due to the dogs playing and having fun, so even if your pooch does not go in the pool, he may sit on the grass and get a little wet. We apologize for the inconvenience and recommend that you always keep a towel in the car. If you do not have one, just ask for us to towel dry your dog at checkout and we will be happy to do so! You can also ask about a getting your dog a fresh-n-fluff before they go home, so they’ll come home cleaned up and smelling good!
Due to the communal nature of our facility, we require that it be done every six months to prevent the spread of K9 cough as much as possible. Some vets do not send reminders because every dog has a different lifestyle and have different recommendations. Fecal Tests are required so that we can check for intestinal parasites and keep our facility free of parasites.
If your dog usually eats lunch, then you can definitely bring lunch for your pup.
Yes. We separate dogs by size as well as temperament. One of the things we assess on our temperament test is where they would fit in the pack. So you could see an older big dog in with small dogs and a very energetic smaller dog with the big ones, it depends on size and their personality.
No. We believe that each dog is an individual and should be given a fair chance by going through a temperament test. With that being said, we are aware that some dogs may have a style of play that is not always suitable for the daycare environment. Many daycares ban all bully breeds, regardless of individual temperament. We do not feel a ban is necessary but we do take precautions. To be accepted into daycare, bully breeds must show good self-control, not be rude or space invasive to people, and have good knowledge of the following commands; sit, leave it, and come in addition to the regular requirements. Bully breeds tend to become quickly over-stimulated and escalate situations. For this reason, they will be allowed to play for short periods of time followed by rest periods that allow their arousal level to decrease.
No. When dogs are being groomed they are in a crate and do not have any socialization with other dogs, so for that reason we do need to schedule a temperament test and see how they do in a pack environment.
A reservation must be made at least 24hrs in advance. We have a daily limit of 85 dogs for daycare. You can call the morning of, but as we are a growing business, there is a possibility we will be full for the day. If a dog cancels the morning of daycare, we will happily put you on a wait list and call you.
We do not. We are open on weekends only for boarding check ins and check outs. The dogs that are boarding get group playtime for the weekends, but the Daycare is closed.
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However, just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
The safety of the dogs is always our first priority. In our initial interview, we make every attempt to weed out aggressive behavior. We closely monitor dogs and keep play on a fun, friendly basis so that it doesn’t become too wild or confrontational. However, dogs use their mouths & paws to play; therefore, little scratches & nicks are not uncommon. If anything serious should happen, we will take him/her to The Belmont Animal Hospital and notify you immediately.
Daycare packages may only be used toward daycare. They may not be used for half days or boarding. Daycare is already included in your boarding price and is a separate billing section in the system.
No. Due to the nature of the discount we do not provide refund on any portion not used of the package. We recommend bringing your dog in at least a few times before buying the package. To be sure he/she is a good fit.
